Lioness Spotlights Local: Chad Wright
Ainsley Shaw • May 7, 2026

Local author Chad Wright talks with us about the inspiration for his new book, Win the Battle Against Burnout! and how his personal experiences inform his philosophy. Lioness Books will be at Wright’s Book Launch on May 12 from 4:30pm-6:00pm at 1641 Scottsdale Dr., Leander, TX 78641. Click here to RSVP!

AS: Can you start by introducing yourself and telling us about your background?

CW: “I am a husband, father, and entrepreneur who almost lost everything to burnout. I went on a journey to learn that leadership was at the heart of winning the battle against burnout. Now I spend my time equipping leaders across the country to be intentional about how they take care of themselves, so they can take care of the people they lead.”

AS: Tell us about your book, Win The Battle Against Burnout! What was the initial inspiration for it?

CW: “This book is the culmination of a 25-year journey into and out of burnout. We wanted to take everything we’ve learned along the way and create a practical battle plan that everyone could embrace. It started as a book about the tools to defeat burnout, and turned into a book about why we become trapped in the first place.”

AS: How does your personal experience with burnout inform your philosophy in this book?

CW: “A reader referred to this as a “very personal work” and I think that is true. Many of the examples I use of unhealthy leadership are my own. This started as a quest to learn to win the battle against burnout so I could save my family and my career. The philosophy, mindsets, and tools in the book are what I use every day to continue to fight this fight so that I can show up at my best.”

AS: Tell us more about what participants will experience at your book launch?

CW: “We want you to experience community and connection. Winning the battle against burnout cannot happen if you are alone. The journey to get to this point has required community and my hope is we can connect as people who are fighting the same battle. We frame it as winning the battle against burnout, not the war. While the battle can be won each day, the war will be ongoing and
we will need each other on that journey.”

AS: How can readers support local authors like you?

CW: “Share the book with anyone who you think it would impact. Writing can often be lonely and difficult work. Sharing it gives life to that work and magnifies the potential impact.”
